Comparisons
Enthusiasm is necessary to convey a sense of engagement, especially when others are looking to you for leadership. Mind, not  enthusiasm of the uncontrolled squealing type, but enthusiasm for the engagement.

To lack this is like a person who boasts of their connections. They challenge fate to challenge them. When that happens misfortune results. It can come like a storm, preceded by thunder. The only course is to have no illusions, but always leave an opening for improvement.

One must know how things begin. The germinal moment of a great change which engulfs everything. One must know when to withdraw and when to stand still in the face of such change. To do so you must know the terrain in which you find yourself. And to do that you must be observant. Procrastination is death.

The pressure of position can seem to kill  with its associated stresses but in fact it often preserves one's readiness and, in the end,  aids in promotion.

Sureness in a person is seen as strength and those who see it will assist it.

So to that end assess an enthusiasm and see if it possesses the three values necessary for its integrity: Sense, Purpose, Belief. Does it make sense? Is it for a higher Purpose?  Can you believe in it?
