Comparison

Appetite; consuming all it sees. The motive for action must be clear. Desire objectifies things. Detachment adds perspective and locates these things properly. Before deciding on an action detach yourself from your desires. Yet to deny inclination is to deny your sources. Identify where yearnings and appetites arise. Do this and you will be free of fault.

Conceit and complacency lead to trouble. Humility brings focus and solutions. Balance is found when desire is understood, and harnessed like an energy. Then appetite can help nourish the soul, not just the body.
